The Vampires Who Thought They Were Clever
Oh, the vampires, always so clever, aren’t they? Hah! You’d think by now, after centuries of the same foolishness, they'd catch on. But no, no! They never do.
It was a day like any other, a bright and sunny one for a change, in the City of Secrets, where whispers and scheming go hand in hand. But this day was different. The night before, a group of vampires—fresh off their "successful" hunt in the Mortal World—decided they were untouchable. You see, when they go hunting there, it’s too easy. Mortals are so... well, mortal. No tricks up their sleeves. No magical surprises. Just simple blood to drain, simple bodies to feast on.
So, after gorging on the usual fare—humans with all their hopes and dreams, which the Vampires find delicious to suck the life out of—they decided to waltz right back into 4EverMore, thinking they were the biggest fish in the sea. Oh, how wrong they were.
These were no ordinary vampires, mind you. They were bold, confident, and a touch overconfident if you ask me. They strutted into the city thinking, "The Day Walkers can’t touch us. We're untouchable. No one’s ever stood a chance against us in the Mortal World, so why would 4EverMore be any different?"
Oh, dear, they had no idea what they were walking into.
They made their way toward the gates of Eclipsora, the City of Day Walkers, where the night is never truly dark and where the Day Walkers reign supreme. They slipped through the shadows like the sneaky little things they were, expecting to catch everyone off guard. But little did they know, someone was watching.
Someone always is.
And that someone, my dear reader, was none other than me. Yes, I'm Alice, the tea-obsessed, chaos-loving, everyone-else’s-bad-luck-best-friend.
I could hear their footsteps—soft, sneaky, thinking they were clever. But I was too busy with my teapot to care. Oh but I did care. I always care when someone thinks they can walk into our home, thinking they’re the biggest thing in the room.
So, I made a little tea. Herbal. Strong. A bit of magic for good measure. Oh, and a side of chaos. Because what good is tea without a dash of mayhem, right?
I wasn’t alone, of course. The Day Walkers were always a step ahead. But you’d never guess that by looking at me. I’m always just a little too busy pouring tea to really get involved, right?
Wrong.
Just as the vampires thought they were sneaking in unnoticed, they didn’t realize the city itself had eyes everywhere. From the rooftops, Day Walkers perched like shadows. And from the ground, they moved like whispers. By the time the first vampire even looked up, arrows were already in the air. Bows twanged, and just like that—two of their number fell, screaming their eternal rage into the night.
Oh, the drama!
They tried to fight back, of course. Vampires and their always-so-righteous fury. But it didn’t take long for the Day Walkers to put them in their place. Too fast. Too skilled. Too sharp.
I sipped my tea as it unfolded. My favorite part? Watching the vampires realize they were out of their league. They didn’t have the advantage here. Not in 4EverMore.
It was so much fun to watch them scramble. Silly vampires, thinking their darkness could outshine the light that walks on the very same ground.
The battle was over before they even had a chance to really fight. The last vampire, clutching his wounds, tried to crawl away—but the shadows had already found him. His last words? “We’ll be back...”
I don’t think so, darling.
Afterward, when it was all said and done, I just sipped my tea and hummed a little tune. The city was still, the Day Walkers victorious.
I did enjoy myself immensely. But I also know something: those vampires? They’ll never learn. And I’ll always be here, pouring my tea, waiting for the next round of nonsense.
